Selcan is a researcher with interdisciplinary training in molecular biology, computational and systems biology, and quantitative genetics. She is passionate about teaching, especially things people get scared of like calculus or pivoting functions, and about making them accessible across various learner groups. Selcan is currently doing research using embryonic stem cells as a postdoctoral associate at The Jackson Laboratory.
