Maria is a postdoctoral research scientist in biomedicine at Queen Mary University of London. She uses data science to extract valuable information from big datasets produced in the laboratory, with the aim to advance cancer research. Starting from a biochemistry and bioinformatics background, Maria became passionate about mentoring, promoting the power of R, and using it in creative ways to connect with others.
