Ashton has 25 years of experience working at the intersections of science, social values, and organizational development to provide decision-support services. She teaches a variety of R workshops, online and in-person, which draw from her experience as an R data consultant and Shiny application developer. Ashton has co-edited two textbooks and co-authored multiple papers on topics of landscape ecology, conservation planning, expert knowledge elicitation, and inquiry-guided teaching.
